About the Author

Peter W. Merlin was a Forward Air Controller in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He flew over 400 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. After the war, he worked as a journalist and a college professor. He is the author of several books on the Vietnam War, including Ahead of the Curve: A Forward Air Controller in Vietnam and The Vietnam War: A History.
