By Joel Mokyr
The Lost History of Success in the Rich World, Now Urgently Needed in Developing Countries is a groundbreaking book that reveals the hidden history of how the rich world became rich and how developing countries can follow in their footsteps. The book is written by renowned economic historian Joel Mokyr, who has spent decades researching the origins of economic growth.
Mokyr argues that the key to economic success is not natural resources, climate, or culture, but rather institutions. He shows how the development of property rights, the rule of law, and a free market economy were essential for the rise of the West. Mokyr also shows how these institutions can be transplanted to developing countries, and he provides a blueprint for how to do so.
The Lost History of Success in the Rich World, Now Urgently Needed in Developing Countries is a must-read for anyone interested in economic development. It is a book that has the potential to change the way we think about the world and our place in it.
